WATCH: Woman shares helpful safety tip for ladies living alone

You should always rather be safe than sorry.
Unfortunately because of the times we live in, women have to constantly be vigilant and aware of what is happening around them in order to hopefully not become another statistic.

Whether it's in public or even in their homes.
Safety is always high up on the list of priorities, if not the number one priority.

From walking with car/house keys between fingers to having at least one bottle of pepper spray on hand always, these are just a few of the tips and tricks women have to use in order to feel a little bit safer on the streets.
But what about feeling safe in your own home?
There are obvious safety measures such as alarms, burglar bars, having a guard animal, etc.

These should all prevent someone from entering your home from outside.
However, if you are a woman living alone there could be a time where you have to open your home to strangers and one TikToker shared a few of her tricks to help other women feel safer.

Known on TikTok as @sulken, she shared that she was expecting a man, who she does not know personally, to come over to drop off a piece of furniture she had bought on Facebook Marketplace.
As she lives alone she wanted to create the illusion she has a boyfriend and she shared her genius hacks with the internet.

Some might say that this is a little bit dramatic but the comments on the video shine even more light on how a woman's life is almost always under threat:
We can only hope that there will one day come a day when women don't have to pretend they have make-believe boyfriends in order to feel safe.
