Some people go through their whole lives without ever owning the home they have spent most of their years in.
Without getting too technical and going on about the economy and the real estate market, we'll just say this: buying a home will always be expensive, can be quite a lengthy process, and can be very stressful.

So when you do take the leap and purchase a house, you want to take care of it as well as you possibly can and turn it into a home.
That's probably what TikTok user @_arsmath had in mind.
Life, however, had other plans.

She took to TikTok to share her experience as a first-time homeowner.
What could possibly go wrong? Absolutely everything...

Obviously, the fallen tree was the straw that broke the camel's back... or in this case, the house.
But she was able to turn this into a Cinderella story!
