WATCH: Wild boars ambush woman and steal her groceries!

Pumbaa and his friends are truly living that 'Hakuna Matata' life...
We as South Africans are no strangers to wild animal encounters.
You only have to live in KZN for a short time and you can probably recount multiple monkey-related interactions and incidents (Because let's be honest - they are not all positive).
In other countries, you won't necessarily find the abundance of truly wild animals on your doorstep as you would in SA.
Let's take a look at Italy.
While there might be rural areas full of indigenous, undomesticated creatures, they very much keep to themselves and stay out of the human areas.
With the exception being this one team of wild boars!
Four adult wild boars and two tiny baby boars recently made a mission into town, Le Rughe near Rome to be exact, and decided to ambush an Italian woman who was completely unsuspecting as she was on her way home with her groceries.
A few bystanders were able to capture the moment on their phones and uploaded it to social media.
The woman was allegedly walking to her car with her groceries, which she had just bought, when out of nowhere the group of boars popped up and started towards her.
After she notices the animals, she tries to slowly back away and put distance between her and the wild creatures, but they were relentless.
Eventually, they managed to corner her and she had realised she had met her match. Acknowledging her defeat, she dropped her bags.
The smaller boars immediately started eating the contents of the bag and the older pigs took what they could and ran away.
Luckily, the woman escaped unharmed, although she probably would have to return to the supermarket and explain to the people who just saw her leave that her food had been stolen by boars.

This is not an isolated incident. According to reports, since the start of the pandemic, wild boar sightings in Italy have increased as they have been raiding garbage and gardens looking for food.
They have been wreaking so much havoc, local farmers have even asked authorities to intervene and involve the army if it is necessary!
Involving the armed forces might be a bit excessive, but clearly something is going on...
