What an unbelievable save!
While most of us look at this video in awe, a few people in the comments section had some questions with the most common being: "Wouldn’t it have been easier to drop the tray and use their hands?"

Another user explained why using the tray actually helped:
Too little time to drop the tray. If they had released the tray it wouldn’t have fallen clear and would have hindered getting their hands solidly on the cabinet. Also the tray gave a slight reach extension that enabled them to start slowing down the cabinet slightly earlier. Time was critical because the best time to slow it down is when it’s only a little off-balance. A split second longer and the shelf would have been far more off balance and have had a lot more force.- Reddit user
Not only was this heroic waiter thinking fast, but he was clearly thinking smart as well.
Well done!
