WATCH: TikTok user's video shows her eating raw chicken

What in the salmonella is going on here?!
Just last week we discovered that for quite a few years people have been consuming raw meat that had been stored in sealed containers.

These raw meat-eaters enjoy these meals and experience a certain sense of euphoria when they eat this meat.
While this is still risky and one wrong piece of steak could lead to some serious food poisoning, it's not nearly as dangerous as this woman's strange meal choice.

Everyone knows that raw chicken = salmonella. And although it isn't incredibly deadly, you can get seriously ill and complications can occur.
That's why people were shocked when they came across a video of a woman eating pieces of raw chicken... and enjoying it!

Naturally, people were asking questions.
How does she not get sick? That can't be tasty right? And most importantly, why?!

She answered a few comments by saying that this habit has never made her sick and she thoroughly enjoys it.
Many users were absolutely repelled by these actions and even made reaction videos in response to witnessing this questionable behaviour:

But although this woman claims to have never been sick because of the raw chicken, it should be noted that you should definitely NOT be eating any chicken that has not been cooked.
We would not recommend this behaviour so we thought we would do one better and give you a few salmonella and food poisoning avoidance tips:
- Make sure to wash your hands before and after handling chicken with soapy water for 20 seconds (this should be a walk in the park after this whole pandemic.)
- DO NOT WASH raw chicken
- Use a separate cutting board for chicken and any other ingredients you will be using
- Never place any other foods on a plate, board or another type of surface that had previously had raw chicken resting on it
- Wash everything you had used to prepare the raw chicken with hot soapy water before using it again.
- Make sure leftover chicken is refrigerated or frozen within two hours or, if the temperature goes higher than 32°C, it should be put away within an hour.
With these tips, you should be salmonella and food poisoning-free!
