WATCH: Reverse pirates attach themselves to cruise ship in viral TikTok
Updated | By Stacey & J Sbu
Ahoy, matey! Can we join for the ride?
Man overboard, rough seas, and turning tides are all normal things one can expect when embarking on an ocean ride.
However, nowadays, pirates are a very rare encounter, especially when they are reverse pirates.

'Reverse pirates' - what do we mean by this?
"Pirates" are unidentified individuals who do not belong to a sovereign nation that normally rob or take control of a ship.
These "pirates" did the opposite of that. Although they are a rogue, unidentified ship, they seek to bring gifts and refreshments to these adventurers.
Sea merchants are known to operate in the area, although the exchange rarely happens in the middle of the ocean, especially like this.
In the video above posted to TikTok by @claireandpeter the sea merchants are seen throwing what seems to be a pound of goods at a "special price".
They "attach" themselves with their small, manual boat to the grand cruise ship and start conversing with potential customers.
They aren't so much persuaded as they are coerced into buying from these merchants.
A major concern is raised after one of the customers has a pound of goods 'yeeted' from the small ship to the cruise ship...
She asks how she is meant to pay for it.

The solution that was offered by the enthusiastic vendor was that he will throw plastic to the cruise ship and they will put the money in it and throw it back.
The comments have been wild with so many loving this initiative but questioning their implementation...
- "I’d buy just because I really admire the hustle"
- "That ain't street vendors thats stream vendors"
- "Nah if they gonna try THAT hard I’d pay them extra"
- "No ones talking about that throw though!"
- "I would buy what he’s selling, a true salesman never backs down from an opportunity"
- "’I've never seen anything like this before"
- "Work smarter not harder. Love this."
- "I know i don't wanna get hassled by vendors on my vacation but this dedication is"
An inventive hustle that the internet has not seen before.
We commend these men for their effort and wish them the best in their coming ventures.
