WATCH: Mzansi thief caught red-handed stealing a tyre

Shiver me timbers, this street pirate got caught red-handed stealing a tyre and the internet could not be more baffled. 

However, something that was out of the ordinary was how polite the criminal was. 

Watch the viral clip posted on Twitter of the man using a lug wrench to remove the tyre from a bakkie:

According to Briefly, this "shameless man" stopped on the side of the road to fix a broken tyre and without a doubt in his mind, he turned to a car nearby and tried to snatch that tyre... in broad daylight!

Needless to say he was caught by the owner and when confronted. He claims to have only been borrowing the tyre with intention of returning it.

The thief was dumb-founded and even acted shocked that the owner was angry and had called the police.
