WATCH: Man drives into News Café to get to ex after bouncers deny him access

The incident took place in Rosebank, Johannesburg after the driver allegedly wanted to see his ex-girlfriend, although she did not want to see him.
On Friday the 23rd of April, a 33-year-old man was told he was not allowed to enter the News Café restaurant in Rosebank, Johannesburg.

He had allegedly been trying to enter the building because his ex-girlfriend had been inside at the time, but she did not want to see him and he was asked to leave.
Enraged, he decided to take matters into his own hands and proceeded to get into his car, turn towards the restaurant, and drive into the building.

After his first unsuccessful attempt, he made a second attempt before driving off. His plan was foiled thanks to a few obstacles in his path, which included the cars in the street and the outside smoking area.
Restaurantgoers and the News Café staff quickly realised what was going on when the car turned to face them and managed to get most of the people out of harm's way.

This man initially got into a scuffle with the bouncers. The next thing the waiter pushes me out of the way saying “this guy is about to drive into the restaurant. He attempted to ram into the restaurant twice.

According to TimesLive, Capt Mavela Masondo, the Gauteng police spokesperson, confirmed that the man was arrested that same evening and has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and reckless and negligent driving.
He is set to appear at the Hillbrow magistrate's court today for his first court appearance.

Luckily, no one was seriously injured and hopefully, justice will be served.
Seems like this ex-girlfriend clearly dodged a bullet.
