We've all been there - that sinking feeling at the petrol station as the numbers climb higher and higher. For one Land Cruiser owner, a recent fill-up took things to a whole new level.
In a TikTok video shared by @trans_africa_tours, we witness the petrol attendant topping up the double tank of a Land Cruiser, with the Rand counter climbing to a level that had our hearts pounding!
With petrol prices as high as they are, the cost to fill this beastly SUV's 190-litre tank had us gasping for air. As it climbed over the R5,000 mark, we felt a bit faint...
The driver narrated his experience with a touch of sarcasm:
"Buy a Land Cruiser, they said. It would be fun, they said."
The video doesn't shy away from the pain. As the rand value creeps closer and closer to the dreaded R5,000 mark, the driver even gives the green light to keep pumping.
This dedication to a full tank left social media users speechless but filled their heads with endless questions!
One commenter, @mduduzi.ngwenya5, questioned the tank size itself, wondering if it had a hidden compartment. After all, standard Land Cruisers typically have a 90-litre capacity.
