Bottled water straight out of the tap has been uncovered...
Trending on all platforms is the story of how R10-million worth of fake bottled water has been uncovered by police in Johannesburg.
The water, which was a Valpre knock-off, was being bottled at a factory in Crown Mines, west of the CBD.
This crime happened in 2016 but there's no saying that it won't or isn't happening now amidst the water rationing that struck SA.

Water is essential. Drinking unsafe water causes water-borne illnesses such as Escherichia coli-induced diarrhea, cholera, typhoid fever, giardia, Hepatitis A, and dysentery.
Ensuring that the water you drink has been filtered or from a trusted source is prevalent now more than ever before.
Here are some tips to ensure clean drinking water:
- Boil or filter water if you are sourcing it from the tap.
- Only buy bottled water from a trusted/verified source.
- Always check the labels on water for any discrepancies.
- Ensure clean and functioning water sources to your house or facility.
