WATCH: DJ Tira deletes tweet showing maskless crowd at super spreader event
Updated | By Stacey and J Sbu
All pictures and videos of the event have since been deleted but DJ Tira has already dug himself a deeper hole.
Since South Africa has been jumping around between different lockdown levels, there have been events popping up every now and then.

When we reached lockdown level 1, it seemed like all was well and artists were back on stages, performing to crowds who were more than happy to see their favourite musicians.
Then winter came, COVID-19 cases started soaring again, and, just like that, lockdown levels started going up and up as well.

Once again, the entertainment industry has been brought to its knees and the struggle for everyone working within this industry is very real and constant.
As it turns out, not everyone is adhering to the strict COVID-19 regulations and rules that have been set in place by President Cyril Ramaphosa.

DJ Tira recently hosted an event in Maboneng, Johannesburg, where he performed new music from his album #RockStarForever.
In his pre-promotion for the event, he already started making some questionable remarks:
We’re super excited that shows are officially back! Catch @DJTira performing new music from his latest album #RockstarForever at a stage near u🕺 https://t.co/51NuimCb6M

However, it was the video below that caught everyone's attention.
In the video you can see people, without masks, standing close together, packed into the venue.

A reminder of what the current lockdown regulations for social gatherings are: you can only have 50 people indoors, 100 people outdoors, while social distancing protocols and mask-wearing are mandatory.

After realising that the video had not elicited the reaction he had anticipated, he deleted the video, but he could still face major legal issues.
Everyone involved in the event, DJ Tira, the organisers, the venue, and attendees could face non-compliance charges which will result in a fine, imprisonment or both.

Considering all of this, DJ Tira did not respond to the backlash as expected.
While you may think he would apologise for being part of such an event, his only response so far has been what most people consider quite ignorant:
Get a vaccine 👍🏾

Currently, only people above the age of 35 are eligible for the vaccine and the Pfizer vaccine requires two jabs, six weeks apart, getting vaccinated is not as easy as Tira believes.
Has he been keeping up to date with the vaccine rollout statistics?
There is also no way that everyone at this event is over 35 and fully vaccinated.
Wow! Yheey nifane nenze nje Tira. Do you even know the status of #VaccineRollOutSA and who gets to qualify? You posting this video shows that you’re seriously out of touch. You’re probably the only person who qualifies for a jab there. The rest are under 35. How irresponsible. https://t.co/3GK1ex5Nx0

Many Tweeps are also concerned because they believe situations like this could cause President Ramaphosa to move back to stricter lockdown levels, which continues to put artists and the entertainment industry at dire risk:
Tira needs to be arrested, he’s not even admitting that he’s wrong. This person will contribute in people losing their lives, their income, their jobs and their gigs. Then akhale athi the government doesn’t care about artists or alcohol isn’t killing people.

Haha @DJTira deleted the video. What a coward😔. He was busy telling people who were criticizing him for being irresponsible to "get vaccines" as if vaccines are available to everyone in this country. We shouldn't feel sorry for artists when Ramaphosa moves the country to level 2

Tira was irresponsible but everyone in that room thought it was a good idea to be in such a situation during this pandemic? We have a real problem if so many people think such is ok simply because a DJ is behind it. Truly disturbing.

People are also stating that this is a common occurrence and there are many more people who are guilty of doing exactly the same thing, they're just not getting caught:
This is what happens when people don't like you. They having Tira because they don't like him. People like Dj Maphorisa were at Zone6 yesterday and Junk Park Friday, no COVID regulations were followed. People are quiet about that. Other events around the country, same thing. While we all can sympathise with the entertainers struggling to get through this pandemic, there are many other industries facing the same trials and there is nothing they can do about it.
The only way to get through this is to work together and hopefully, people will be able to once again earn a living and things will be back to "normal" soon.
