Updated | By Stacey and JSbu
Adele made her much anticipated debut performance on Saturday Night Live, the American late-night live television sketch comedy and variety show and she was both funny and incredible!
It seems as if fans have been waiting forever for an announcement of new music from Adele, who last released an album in 2015. So, when the global superstar shared what was at first a cryptic Instagram story with the date '23rd of October' fans were led to hysteria thinking that the star was about to release a new album.
Unfortunately, those dreams were dashed in a matter of minutes when Adele shared the post again but this time on her timeline alongside a caption that provided context.

In the Instagram post, Adele shared her excitement of making her debut as a host of the very popular skit comedy show that combines music, current news affairs and politics.
It seems as if her debut was an absolute hit with fans of the show and the star. In her British humour, Adele joked with the audience that 'I know I look really, really different since you last saw me, but actually, because of all the Covid restrictions...I had to travel light and I could only bring half of me" as she took to the stage.
One of the highlights of the show was when Adele performed a spoof of the reality show The Bachelor, which saw Adele enter the competition as a female contestant looking for a date.
"I'm here because I've had a lot of heartbreak in my life - first at 19 and then, sort of famously, at 21 and then, even more famously, at 25,"- Adele
She said, referencing the titles of her first three albums. As she faced rejections from the Bachelors dating scenarios, Adele interrupted the filming with one of her songs - including Rolling In The Deep, Hello and Set Fire To The Rain - to the increasing annoyance of her castmates.
In the end, she walked off the set singing Someone Like You, shouting: "Catch me next week on Love Island!"

She dedicated Saturday's show to front-line workers in the COVID-19 pandemic, some of whom had been invited to the socially-distanced audience in New York.
Aaah man, this just made us want that new album from her so bad! We miss you, Adele, please give us new music soon.
Lots of love from your fans in South Africa.
