How can you experience the best luck and the worst luck simultaneously?
We're not here to start a major debate on whether or not you should tip your waitress or waiter, that's up to you and what you feel is right.

But people who work in customer service do have to put up with a lot in terms of ungrateful and rude customers.
So seeing as they don't make the most money in the world, a tip is a nice little bonus to let them know their service is appreciated.

One waitress thought it was her lucky day when she received a MAJOR tip only to have the rug pulled from under her when her employer fired her.
But are the two really connected?

Here's the story:
Ryan Brandt, a waitress in the US, told KNWA that she and another waitress were catering to a group of over 40 people at a local restaurant, where she had been working for three and a half years.

By the end of the meal, each person had left a $100 tip which resulted in a total of $4,400 for both of them.
Instead, they were told that they had to put their tip together with their other colleagues' tips and then they will all split it. Ryan says this has never happened in all the years she has worked there.

When one of the customers, Grant Wise, who was part of the 40-person party, discovered this, he asked for a refund on the tip and instead gave it to Ryan outside of the restaurant. Wise only wanted to tip the servers who had waited on his table
However, Ryan was then devastated when she was fired and she believes it is because of this interaction.

They had told her it was because she disclosed information to Wise about the splitting of the tips and this violated the restaurant's policy.
The establishment did comment on the dismissal.
After dining, this large group of guests requested that their gratuity be given to two particular servers. We fully honoured their request. Out of respect for our highly valued team members, we do not discuss the details surrounding the termination of an employee.- Oven and Tap

While this might always be a he said, she said situation, something does seem a little bit fishy.
Ryan however, seems like an expert server so any establishment would be lucky to have her and she should find a job in no time.
