VOTE: Should South Africa own the cable car emoji?
Updated | By Stacey & J Sbu
In latest news, the cable car emoji is currently being advocated for. What are your thoughts?
South Africa is known for many things and one of them is the cable cars that manoeuvre through the golden sunsets of Cape Town.
With technology moving at an exponential rate, it's hard to keep up with what's new.
Many South Africans are banding together to petition for this emoji to be moved higher in our panel of emojis.

"Let's move the emoji to the top," says one SAFFA.
Did you know there is a mountain cableway emoji 🚠? It was only added to the emoji database in the last ten years or so and it ranks at 818.
Ja, the BOTTOM of the list!

Good Things Guy shares: "The Table Mountain Aerial Cableway in Cape Town is perhaps one of our most beloved pieces of South African Heritage. It is currently in the running to be voted the World’s Leading Cable Car Ride, at The World Travel Awards."
Paired with the desire to move the emoji "to the top", South Africans have another crazy idea.
"What if we work together to not only remove the cableway emoji from the bottom of the list but actually own it as one of our own?"
“We are so privileged to have people posting the most gorgeous pictures taken on the mountain, every single day of the year. These images share the beauty of our mountain and the cableway with the world, and we can make the emoji part of the brand. Every time you tweet or post about your love for the mountain and the cable car, please consider adding the emoji to your post.”- Giselle Esau
"Let’s be proud of our heritage and share it with the world," says one user.
Stay tuned to hear the verdict on this little but significant emoji.
