This latest fad is called "Hobby Horsing." While it claims to be a sport, many argue its legitimacy.
Essentially Sports shares an excellent analysis on the matter, "The prime purpose of every game is to derive pleasure. Sports, however, also have a strong emphasis on competition and expertise. While one may argue that it’s all about having fun, many others would draw a clear line between a game and a sport."

Although this seems unusual, it is very popular with the Finnish people. This form of horse riding eliminates the need for riding a horse, which can be dangerous for young kids if not experienced. It also eliminates any variable for injuries and cuts out expensive costs.
On the other hand, the internet is baffled and shares their opinions:

This "sport" is also beginning to make waves in Australia. Will we see this hit Mzansi soon? Stay tuned...
