Video: Lioness knocked by driver at the Kruger National Park
Updated | By Stacey & J Sbu
Video footage shows an impatient driver bumping into a lioness who was strolling on the road.
As South Africans, we pride ourselves on our beautiful wildlife; besides the Big Five, locals and tourists travel far and wide to see the majestic wildlife.
Our wildlife is many things; they are feared, admired, and beautiful, but as a collective, we believe that for us to live holistically, we must learn to live amongst them.
Respecting our wildlife is a big part of that. We guess this is why places such as Kruger National Park have so many rules and regulations regarding visitors.
A video that has caused some uproar shows a motorist driving an SUV and bumping a lioness who was strolling with her pride.
The pride was causing some traffic between the Satara and Olifants Camp in the Kruger National Park.

It is undoubtedly a wonderful treat to see a pride of lions up close and personal, so when motorists stop their cars to view these beautiful creatures, it is an unspoken rule of thumb that everyone remains patient.
But this driver ruined the majestic moment by potentially harming one of the lionesses that stopped for a brief moment in their way.
According to Jacaranda FM, "It was during their attempt to push through that the driver proceeded to push one of the lionesses in the pride with their vehicle. The reason behind the driver's actions are not yet clear, but the Lowvelder reported that Kruger National Park (KNP) security officers are hot on the heels of the driver."
