Acne can often cause a person to feel extremely self-conscious and affect their self-esteem. For many acne is not just a temporary phase but can be carried well into adulthood.
According to News Medical, acne is a disorder of the pilosebaceous units of the skin which causes breakouts, or spots, to appear on the body. For a lot of people, irrespective of their food and diet and the assistance of dermatologists acne can be something that they have to learn to live with.
It is said that females and young adults are the most commonly affected by acne, but males also have a significant prevalence of the condition.
Stacey Norman herself as a young woman suffered from acne even though she does admit it was not as severe as some of her peers. The effects of her acne, though like most young teenagers and adults, made her incredibly self-conscious.
This was incredibly hard during a time in her life, whereas young adults in school, one's outward appearance and social acceptance is perceived to be important. So, when she saw this incredibly brave acne transformation post by Twitter user Tshego, Stacey wanted to share it with the rest of KZN particular people who may have acne issues and find it hard to live with.

The post is a side by side transformation of when her acne journey began and where it is today and as we can all see there has been a drastic change! Just how did this happen though? Tshego followed up her Twitter post with the following details on her acne transformation:
The day i went to the dermatologist and i was prescribed oratane . Remember with oratane , everything gets worse before it gets better . All of this rash developed into acne as I proceeded with the treatment. My doctor recommended i pair my treatment with a chemical peel each month , however i wasnt happy with the results so after the first month I decided i’m not doing it anymore. As weeks and months went by , the acne became dry , peeled off and i had less breakouts .Patience , patience , patience !- Tshego
