We have all had those days known as 'duvet days'. A day of relaxation and nothingness satisfying the guilty pleasure of staying under the covers.
A new trend that encapsulates this experience is called, 'bed rotting'.
What is Bed Rotting?
According to Health, "Bed rotting is a new trend sweeping TikTok that involves staying in bed for extended periods of time—not to sleep, but to do passive activities. This trend is most popular among Generation Z who may feel burnt out from work, school, family demands, or social engagements. However, while bed rotting can benefit some people in the short-term, it can become concerning if it lasts for more than one or two days."

Although bed rest may offer short-term advantages for certain individuals, it becomes worrisome when prolonged for more than a day or two. Yup, people can spends days on end in the comfort of their own bed.
"Too much of anything is bad for you," reckons one social media user. Research shows that too much time in bed can impact sleep as your mind associates the bed with other things.

The most important thing is to see bed rotting as a temporary rest and relief. Not letting it become a bad habit or regular pattern is critical.
