We love to see incredible local talent doing the most!
Mukengerwa Tresor Riziki, or better known as TRESOR, is one of SA's most talented artists.

From a young age, he has had a special relationship with music and knew it was his greatest love and passion.
He grew up in the Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo and was unfortunately orphaned at a very young age. After finishing high school he left his hometown and made his way to the shores of Durban with only one goal in mind - to become a professional musician.

There have been many other obstacles in his path, like learning English and working multiple jobs, but in September 2015, he released his debut album. He had been working on his first album for seven years and it featured collaborations with the likes of AKA, Beatenberg, Khuli Chana, and The Soil.
Not too bad for an up-and-coming artist.

Over the next few years, he would go on to win multiple awards, establish a loyal international fanbase, top charts locally and internationally, trend globally on Shazam, and sign a seven-figure multi-year record deal (one of the most lucrative record deals for a South African-based artist).
But now he has announced one of his biggest, most incredible projects to date!
In case you don't know, iconic American heavy metal band Metallica have announced that they will be reissuing their 1991 self-titled album in honour of its 30th anniversary.

The album will also feature a compilation made up of 53 artists covering their songs. These artists include some of the biggest names in music, like Miley Cyrus, Elton John, Yo-Yo Ma, J Balvin, Alessia Cara, Volbeat, and South Africa's very own TRESOR!
He is the only South African to claim a feature on this legendary reissue and collaboration.

Just a casual announcement, no big deal.
The album will be released digitally on September 10th and the physical release will be available from October 1st.
TRESOR representing SA on this album is enough to convince us to grab a copy, but if you still need some persuasion, maybe this will help: All profits made from this collection will be donated to the charities that have been selected by the contributing artists, including Metallica's very own All Within My Hands foundation.
