'Today I’m not okay' - Connie Ferguson's first wedding anniversary without Shona
Connie and Shona Ferguson would have celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary on Tuesday.
Today marks 20 years since Shona and Connie Ferguson walked down the aisle. The day is bittersweet for Connie, who is celebrating her first wedding anniversary since her husband passed away.
Exactly four months ago, Connie said goodbye to her "soulmate". Shona died on July 30 due to COVID-19-related complications.
"Four months without you, Sho. Today I’m not okay," Connie captioned a picture from her wedding day.
Several stars took to the comments section to show the 51-year-old some love.
"His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches over you! You are the apple of God’s eye Connie, and He holds you ever so tenderly in His loving arms and today we all stand in prayer with you and for you. Love you my friend," former Miss South Africa Basetsana Kumalo wrote.
Celebrity wedding planner, Precious Thamaga-Mazibuko, also sent her love.
"May God’s love comfort & strengthen you when it’s hard like today," she wrote.

Connie revealed on July 31 - one day after Shona's death - that it was the anniversary of the day they met 20 years ago. They got married four months after their chance meeting.
"This day, 20 years ago (31 July 2001), was the day God brought you into my life, and we haven’t looked back since! Ours is a once-in-a-lifetime kind of love. We joked about how we were going to be in our old age. How we would take turns supporting each other and being strong for each other," she wrote.
Connie described Shona as her soulmate.
"Oh how God has loved me to give me YOU! We were already planning our 20th wedding anniversary in November, assuming that we had time! You and I were joined at the hip, now I feel completely off-balance, incomplete, without my other half! My SOULMATE!" she added.
