#TheBigDebate: Platonic relationships… can they exist?

There are many different types of relationships that we go through or are involved in during this cycle called life. Whether it be friendships, relationships, championships, accountability partners or in this case a platonic relationship.

The dictionary states that the definition of a platonic relationship can be of love or friendship, intimate and affectionate but not sexual.

This for some is very hard to believe or understand because it's a relationship with all the makings and expectations of a normal romantic relationship, but it's just not sexual. 

Both parties basically acknowledge that the other is attractive but they just don't act on it. 

If that's what you call maturity, then that level of maturity must be on fire because the amount of restraint that has to go into that relationship must be hectic. 

It's even worse when the other person actually gets into a romantic relationship with someone else. What happens? Are you jealous? Is your partner comfortable with the fact that you have a platonic relationship with someone? The list goes on! 

So, KZN, we want to know from you, can platonic relationships really exist?
