Tbo Touch has xenophobia allegation lodged against him
Updated | By Stacey and JSbu
Well-known media mogul, Tbo Touch, seems to have stepped on a few toes after he went on social media and ranted about illegal immigrants in South Africa, which led to many labelling him “xenophobic”.
The former Metro FM presenter was responding to a post by news anchor Cathy Mohlahlana, which revealed how many immigrants enter South Africa illegally.
In this video clip shared by Mohlahlahlana, a group of people emerge from the bushes and they can be seen running into minibuses parked by the side of the road.
In her caption, she wrote:
One of the listeners on SAfm sent us this video taken near the Komatipoort border post, of people crossing the border illegally into SA.- Cathy Mohlahlahlana
Tbo Touch decided he also had something to say about this post, so he added his own opinion:
Cathy, we have Home Affairs throwing toys all over the place on #Bushiri when they know we have open borders. There are 4.5million illegal immigrants in SA with no fingerprints, valid identity at all.- Touch

A lot of people echoed his sentiments that the South African government does not do enough to protect our borders. However, others were upset and accused him of being xenophobic.
Touch didn't waste time hitting back, detailing one of the horrific incidents that happened to him and his wife Nandi Molefe during a robbery.

He continued:
Can we please not misinterpret xenophobia & patriotism. Being Pro-South African doesn’t mean you’re xenophobic. Everybody must be proud of their nationality! The highest office in society is citizenship.- Touch
Tbo Touch’s statement left Twitter divided.
