Stacey Norman speaks out against cyberbullying on ‘Expresso Show’
Updated | By Stacey and JSbu
East
Coast Radio presenter Stacey Norman appeared on SABC 3’s ‘Expresso Show’ on
Thursday, 12 November 2020, to discuss her recent experience with body shaming
and cyberbullying.
The disappointing incident unfolded a week ago when a picture of Stacey was posted on social media.
A discussion on whether she should get a nose ring or not turned ugly when some users made hurtful comments about her appearance.
Stacey, who hosts the Drive Show with J Sbu, chose to use the disappointing situation as an educational moment.
She addressed the matter on social media and then took to her favourite outlet - the airwaves.
A very hurt Stacey went on-air and addressed the matter. Listen to the full podcast below:
In the past week I’ve been told: ‘You’d be so much prettier if you acted normal’; that I’m ‘a dodo’ and my all-time fave, ‘maybe I should grow some boobs’. These are all comments by women. Publicly. Can we talk for a minute?- Stacey tweeted.
After an emotional week of dealing with cyberbullies, Stacey shared her story on national television.
“What was shocking the most these comments were all from women cyber bullying me” - @staceynorman pic.twitter.com/qgBt4dC6a6

What was sad about this entire situation is that the comments were from women. Women bashing other women. When J Sbu and I did our show that day, we then learned that thousands of women deal with the same issue and they’re just too afraid to speak up about it. That’s got to end here- she told ‘Expresso’ presenter, Graeme Richards.
