Recently, KZN been facing a water crisis. This is not the first time KZN has experienced severe outages or water shedding, however, the situation is jarring.

J Sbu, whose hometown is Tongaat, offers insight into the unbearable conditions that people from this area and areas alike have experienced.

Listeners from all over KZN have shared their water situation. From the south coast to the north coast and even in the tourist hotspot of Umhlanga.

Take a listen to how it went down:

While some of the province begins to have their taps trickle back, so many questions have still been left unanswered. The consensus from the province is that they feel defeated.

So what can we do?

  1. When water does come back, be mindful of those who don't have as the reserves are low.
  2. Stay up to date on the latest news at ecr.co.za.
  3. Practice water conservation and decrease water use.
  4. Fill up some 5l bottles at your nearest water tanker or source in case the water goes out again.

One ECR user says: "This is an uphill battle for Mzansi. Many South Africans have to live without access to water and electricity. Always be mindful of those who may not be as fortunate as you, be part of the solution instead of the problem."
