"There can be no greater gift than that of giving one's time and energy to helping others without expecting anything in return." - Nelson Mandela.

As we celebrate a day meant for giving, sharing, and upliftment, we wanted to inspire the idea of paying it forward this Mandela Day

Nelson Mandela inspired many people worldwide with his words of wisdom and his beliefs. He believed that kindness coupled with accommodation were the drivers of societal change.

So, as we pay tribute Tata Madiba's vision for our beloved country, we wanted to share a video by Keegan Gordon. Keegan has gained traction on social media with his good vibes videos; he usually approaches people in different public spaces and asks them to do simple tasks in return for money or groceries.

This time, we came across a video he shared of a young boy and his mother. The little boy was allowed to draw anything on a whiteboard and Keegan would purchase it for him.

The young boy drew his rendition of Nike shoes and was offered R2,000 cash for his mother or the shoe. It was so heartwarming to see the boy say he would love to gift his mother the money, but what happened next breathed life into the concept of 'Paying it Forward'.
