So... are you the favourite sibling?
Updated | By Stacey & J Sbu
We all know that there's favouritism among the family...
From getting more attention to receiving gifts, there is a general consensus that someone in the family is the favourite.
Parental favouritism isn't a new concept, but post-lockdown it is hitting harder than one can imagine.

According to researchers, parental favouritism of one child over the other affects their emotional well-being.
It is very likely that in their growing years, a neglected child could lose self-esteem, become depressed, and also lose faith in themselves.
This in turn affects their studies and intellectual growth.
So why do most parents have a favourite child?
Favouritism has little to do with loving one child more. It is more about how your personality resonates with one child's personality more than the other's. Essentially, it's a question of like.

Instead of focusing on which child is liked more, emphasis should be placed on how a parent relates to the child and work on growing the relationship and values despite the "like" factor.
Parents may not even realise they are doing it - such as laughing only at one child's jokes - Or letting them get away with things that their siblings can't.- Read Beach
