Snake season: Python caught in the middle of mating

Tissss the season to bring babies.
It's raining snakes here in KZN.
Durban snake catcher Nick Evans stumbled on another “dream kind of sighting” while at one of his study sites.

This video showcases three beautiful Southern African pythons.
"This is typical mating behaviour. Males will congregate around a female (the larger of the three),” Evans said.
Evans shares that this is a cool catch due to the fact that it is nearing the end of the python mating season, which occurs in the winter months.
Although the snakes quickly disappeared as soon as Nick arrived, he says that males can smell a female from far away.

Evans added that studying the species has been “absolutely fascinating and exciting”.
We can't wait to see more epic snakescapades in KZN.
