Siv, has been known to be an advocate for the distribution of free sanitary pads in the country for some time, every year the actor runs a sanitary pads drive on behalf of those less fortunate.
According to Siv, it is unthinkable that in the year 2021, that this conversation is still an issue for millions of South African women in the country who have no access to sanitary pads.

After Siv sent the tweet above, a debate ensued on his timeline where things became very heated.
A frustrated Ngesi, responded to some tweets who suggested that sanitary pads should not be free because then everyone in the country would be taxed for them.
Siv angrily replied saying:
I post ’sanitary pads MUST be free’ and I am disgusted how many men replied ’No! we will get taxed for it, nothing is free! Are you BLOODY kidding me, we live in a selfish world! if you had blood running down your leg, you would think otherwise u selfish self-centred- Siv Ngesi

Siv definitely didn't hold back as he ended his back and forth with some trolls by saying:
When men type like they didn’t come out of a vagina! Like menstruation is just a women thing! Read the word, even ’men... ’ Is in it! #taxme #period #periodpoverty- Siv Ngesi
