Shesha! South Africa’s own e-hailing service to launch in May
Updated | By Stacey & J Sbu / Reeshni Chetty
Shesha, South Africa's first e-hailing app built in collaboration with the taxi industry will launch next month.
Get ready to ditch international e-hailing services because a game-changer is about to hit the streets.
Shesha, a brand new e-hailing app proudly developed in Mzansi, is launching on 1 May!
Shesha promises more than just convenience. With safety concerns a growing issue, especially for women riders, Shesha boasts top-notch security features, reports SABC News.
Fingerprint ID verification for both drivers and passengers ensures peace of mind on every trip.
They're partnering with the local minibus taxi industry, including powerhouses like the South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO) and the National Taxi Alliance (NTA), in order to bring the app to life.
This means keeping wealth within South Africa's borders and empowering local communities.
Speaking to SABC, Minibus Taxi Industry Representative Piet Mahlangu said: "South Africans in e-hailing services have been sweating with no profits."
Shesha aims to change that.
A portion of the company's shares is allocated to a trust specifically designed to provide essential benefits like medical aid and pensions for drivers.
The app is currently downloadable for Android users, with an iOS version coming soon.
