The one and only Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, is currently under fire on Mzansi's Twitter feed.

It all started when Meghan reportedly angered the people of South Africa with her first podcast in which she spoke of an incident which took place during the couple's last royal tour.

As reported by Geo News, in the first episode of her podcast series, 'Archetypes', Prince Harry's wife appeared with tennis star Serena Williams. Markle shared an incident sparked by a heater placed in the nursery where her then-four-month-old son, Archie, was meant to be napping while his parents were executing royal duties.

She explained her son had not been harmed as he was not in the room thanks to his nanny Lauren, who had taken the tot downstairs with her for a snack. She angered South Africans with her words as she described the residence as a "housing unit".

#VoetsekMeghanMarkle began to spread like wildfire.

Voetsek” is an Afrikaans word meaning “go away” or “get lost”.

People left, right, and centre were calling her out about the way she spoke about South Africa. Tweeps have been saying that she should "keep our (South Africa's) name out of her mouth".

However, many news outlets are stating that her words appear to be "taken out of context", but some fans aren't buying it.

Furthermore, one of Nelson Mandela’s grandsons slammed Meghan Markle for comparing her royal wedding to his grandfather being freed from prison.

She provided a comparison between the joy people had for Mandela's release from prison to the joy at her royal wedding.

Meghan is yet to respond to this outrage in Mzansi at the time of publication.
