Love can make one do crazy things.
People have moved across continents to be with their partners, quit their jobs and gone to the absolute extremes to prove how much they care about someone.

Well, some more than others.
Generally, a good rule of thumb would be to do anything and everything your significant other could ever want, but draw the line at criminal activity, dangerous acts, etc.

One man in Senegal decided to cross that line and break the rules for his love.
Khadim Mboup is a 22-year-old student and he is currently in a relationship with Gangue Dioum, a 19-year-old high school student.

While they might be close in age, there are no other immediate resemblances between the two and they look quite different.
Why is this important to the story?
Dioum was busy writing her final exams and set to graduate high school but she became very nervous about failing English.

Naturally, she told her boyfriend about her concerns, and Mboup took it upon himself to relieve some of her stress.
The couple hatched a plan and Mboup offered to step into her shoes, quite literally.

Over the course of four days, Mboup dressed up in his girlfriend's clothes, wore a wig, a headscarf, and went for a complete impersonation transformation.
He even wore earrings, make-up, and a bra to complete the look!

He managed to pull it off for three whole days before being caught by an exam monitor who had become suspicious of the "girl".
The monitor informed the local police who then arrived on the scene and arrested Mboup.

According to news site iHarare, he did not protect his girlfriend for too long after being taken into custody and implicated her while under questioning, even leading officers to where she was staying.
He also admitted that he had "acted out of love".

The couple has since been charged with examination fraud and forgery, have been banned from taking part in any national exams for up to five years, and, more seriously, as the investigation continues, they could be fined and jailed for up to five years if convicted.
While love might make the world go round, it can't provide an education, so stay in school, kids...
