Pronunciation is a big deal for us as South Africans. We can seem quite snobby about how other nationalities pronounce things compared to us.

And sometimes, we can even come across as arrogant in believing that our pronunciation is correct. If there is one thing we have learnt about living harmoniously, it's got to be that sometimes it pays to accept that we are all different.

However, living a life where we view things in the same light sounds boring.

A young South African woman, Melissa Scholtz, is an auditor in Australia. She recently shared an amusing video about the famous Maggi two-minute noodle brand.

Maggi was a noodle leader in South Africa when it first came out. Not only was it a popular snack meal for many people, it appealed to the value of only spending two minutes to prepare it.

Ms. Scholtz added spice when she learned that Australians and New Zealanders pronounce 'Maggi' (M-a-ghee) as 'Maggi' (M-a-j-i-e).
