In a unique collaboration with Apple Music, King Charles III has unveiled 'The King's Music Room', a personal playlist that celebrates the joy of music.

The playlist, released to commemorate Commonwealth Day, features an eclectic mix of tracks from around the world, including a special nod to South Africa's own Miriam Makeba.

Recorded at Buckingham Palace, the playlist showcases the King's love for music and its ability to evoke memories, comfort, and joy.

With a diverse range of artists from Bob Marley and Kylie Minogue to Grace Jones and Beyoncé, there's something for everyone in this royal mix.

As King Charles explains, "Throughout my life, music has meant a great deal to me. I know that is also the case for so many others. It has that remarkable ability to bring happy memories flooding back from the deepest recesses of our memory, to comfort us in times of sadness, and to take us to distant places."

The playlist is a reflection of his own musical tastes, which have been shaped by his travels and experiences around the world.

From the upbeat rhythms of Millie Small's 'My Boy Lollipop' to the soulful sounds of Miriam Makeba's 'The Click Song', each track has been carefully selected to evoke a sense of joy and celebration.

'The King's Music Room' is available now on Apple Music, and can be streamed on-demand with a subscription.
