Rihanna accused of using DJ Maphorisa and Busiswa song without giving credit
Updated | By Stacey and J Sbu
We thought Riri could do no wrong, but it seems like she can and has according to Busiswa.
The world has been starved of new Rihanna music for over five years now as the now beauty and fashion entrepreneur has been focusing her energies on building her Fenty empire.
A promotional video shared by Rihanna on Twitter caught the attention of South African's. It is clear that the song that Rihanna uses in the fifteen-second promotional video is very familiar.
It did not take long for one of the original song contributors, South African artist Busiswa to connect the dots and call out Riri on her post.
Busiswa retweeted the video shared with Rihanna by sharing in part the following: " Nah. @fentybeauty just used a REMAKE of Midnight Starring with my voice, to avoid paying us for it. I’m sad but it’s the game I guess."

Midnight Starring is a song by DJ Maphorisa featuring Busiswa on vocals, DJ Tira and Moonchild Sanelly.
Many South African fans came to the defense of Busiswa as they all agreed that the song used by Rihanna was definitely Midnight Starring'.

Fenty isn't sold in South Africa but you cool not clearing a sample from our artists with Busiswa's voice even. The thunder that shall strike you is doing push ups

Compare that to the song as performed by DJ Maphorisa, Busiswa, DJ Tira and Moonchild Sanelly:
