This South African delicacy is currently under the spotlight after an Irish gal gave it a taste and shared her thoughts to TikTok.
'Mageu' is a traditional African non-alcoholic drink made from fermented mealie pap.
Widely consumed across South Africa, mageu serves as a perfect meal replacement or energy-giving snack. Due to its high nutritional value, it is also used as a supplement for the optimal growth of children.

This foodie first grabbed the attention of Mzansi when she made the mistake of drinking undiluted Oros... shame.
In her latest video, at first, she was shocked by the strong smell of the fermented drink but braced herself for a huge gulp.
Thereafter, she compared the drink to blended bananas and elicited a reaction from SAFFAS.
