A pull on the heart strings: Stacey and JSbu 'Pay it Forward' to 2 deserving women
Updated | By Stacey and JSbu
Galleria Mall has been giving listeners a chance to win a share
of R 50 000 for almost 4 weeks. For a friend, a family member or someone in their community who
is in need. They called this campaign the ‘Pay It Forward’ campaign.
A truly heart warming campaign. Some of the winners who were rewarded with the spend at the mall of their friends, family colleagues etc. really touched our hearts. The team at Galleria Mall have been so gracious to give us R14 000 ( R7000) each to pay it forward to someone we know personally who may be in need.
For myself ( Stacey) the person I wanted to nominate for the 'Pay it forward' campaign is a woman whom has become my honorary mother in KZN, her name is Makhosi. When Stacey first moved down to Durban from Johannesburg, she was without a home and did not know a lot of people in the province outside of work. When she finally found a place to settle in and she met Makhosi, the two women hit it off instantly.
Makhosi has become Stacey's confidant and helps her keep sane. Makhosi has had a rough couple of weeks with only being able to work remotely because of COVID-19 regulations. She also recently had a break in, in her home which devastated her and so this money would go a long way helping her.
For me ( JSbu) the individual I would love to nominate is Chynah Wonderful Roy. Chynah has been struggling to raise funds to represent South Africa in Portugal, for the Miss Teen Universe competition, so hopefully this goes a long way in helping a young black girl achieve her dreams.
Chynah's mom approached me at the mall one Saturday morning and she shared Chynah's story with me, I was so inspired by her story and passion to want to help her daughter that I kept her contact with me. Either way I had committed to pledgeing a certain amonut of money myself to help make her dreams a reality. This Galleria Mall 'Pay It Forward' Campaign just came at the perfect time!
If you would like to contribute to Chynah's dreams of representing our country, you can email her mother: [email protected]
Listen to the moment Stacey and JSbu called these special two women on the show to tell them the news that they were 'Paying Forward' R14 000 to them.
