A TikTok content creator has shared how he learnt about the dangers of pressure cookers the hard way. 

In a shocking clip posted on the short-form video sharing app, he revealed the devastating aftermath of a pressure cooker explosion that left him with severe facial burns.

The footage is a harrowing reminder of the potential risks that lurk in our kitchens. 

@sherifflegit's injuries are a testament to the importance of safety precautions and responsible appliance use. 

Despite the excruciating pain and discomfort, he's using his experience to warn others about the dangers of pressure cookers.

"Please stop using pressure cookers, guys! Look at what it did to my face," he pleaded in the caption.

His warning comes from a place of deep pain and regret. The incident, which occurred 13 months ago, still haunts him to this day.

Social media users joined in on the conversation with many saying they have never and would never purchase a pressure cooker or even a gas stove.

@That.vivian offered a pressure cooker safety tip. "Let the pot cool down for like 15 mins before opening the pot, if you open it immediately you bring it down from fire, it’ll explode or raise the black lid on top to let out."

While @Amuta 6'9a dded: "I give mine at least 40mins to an hour."
