New protocol tracks nurses' hand cleanliness like a star chart

This just in - there is a new protocol that tracks how often nurses wash and sanitise their hands. 

As shared in a TikTok by @registerednursedestiny, she tells all about how nurses are required to wear cards that will beep once you enter a room or certain proximity of a patient.

The speed at which they sanitise their hands will be tracked and a report will be sent to their boss.

The sensor will continue to beep if the nurse fails to clean their hands.

The question on our minds is what if there is an emergency? Seems like a lot of admin...

There are many pros to this new system. Ensuring patient safety, clean working conditions, and nurses who follow protocol.

Some are saying though that it is "a bit much" and "distracts from what the job truly entails".

Another point raised is what if this is brought to South Africa...

The exponential cost increase does not make it feasible for us at this time but who knows, maybe it is something that is brought forward in future... stay tuned.
