Sticking to a healthy diet, maintaining balance, and developing a healthy relationship with food are all essential for kids.
This growth is facilitated through what kids eat at school.
One of the worst feelings a parent can have is when kids aren't eating enough, they get word from teachers that lunches are being swopped or a lunchbox comes back untouched.
I think the important thing here is that we are packing these lunches every day for our kids (and ourselves) so why not have some fun with it and try new things.- Deb- Lunchbox Lifesavers
One way to urge kids to eat their lunch is to make it exciting, add some colour, make sure that you aren't completely cutting out foods they enjoy, as well as finding out what they like to eat.
One suggestion that Deb had for us was packing water for her kids at school as opposed to a juice/cool drink, which actually has more sugar than a Mars bar.
Rather than pack children unhealthy food at school, treat them every now and then after school and be that "cool parent", while still ensuring they are accustomed to eat what is needed.
It can often be hard to introduce kids to new food, so looking at some interesting tips and tricks online can help tantalise their tastebuds and help that lunchbox come back empty.
Have a look at some lunchbox inspiration below:
J Sbu's experience with Zanda is that he often brings food home and battles to find alternatives to a basic PB and J.
In the video above, Deb taught J Sbu how to make a basic peanut butter sandwich interesting and to ensure the crusts don't get wasted - these can be turned into french toast blobs. How inventive!
We can definitely say that this frown J Sbu had was turned upside down when he was exposed to this new world of lunchbox-ing.

One thing to remember is that if you delve into the world of lunchbox-ing, it really doesn't take that much time to get creative once you get the hang of it.
"At the end of the day, there's are no prizes for the best looking lunchbox on the school playground," Deb explains.
Furthermore, it really isn't a competition between who has the best lunch at school. No matter how hard you try, there is always a chance the food won't be eaten.
However, if this happens there will be some yummy leftovers for you until you figure out what works best...
