Mzansi reacts: TKZee member and Kwaito star Tokollo “Magesh” Tshabalala passes away

A legend has passed...
This just in, legendary Kwaito musician and songwriter Tokollo Tshabalala, popularly known as Magesh, passed away on Monday.
The Tshabalala family confirmed the news in a statement, saying the popular South African artist passed away in the morning as a result of an epileptic seizure.
As reported by ECR News, the 45-year-old was a member of the iconic kwaito band TKzee. The band released their first album 'Halloween' in 1994.

Mzansi is heartbroken over this star, whose collective influence will forever leave a mark in South Africa's history.

As you can see, fans are in shock and disbelief over the passing of this local musician.
His legacy will live beyond the music he made, as he has inspired the youth of SA.

TKZee continues to be one of the most influential South African music groups of all time.
The South African Kwaito music group was formed in the 1990s by school friends, Tokollo (Magesh) Tshabalala, Kabelo Mabalane, and Zwai Bala.
Kwaito, a proudly South African genre of music, emerged in Soweto, Johannesburg, during the 1990s. Kwaito is a variant of house music that features the use of African sounds and samples. In the backdrop of a transforming South Africa, Kwaito took shape in Soweto during the period when Nelson Mandela took office as the first democratically elected president of South Africa.
TKZee is one of the Kwaito groups who helped the genré reach new heights.
By late late 1997 and early 1998 with their chart-topping singles "Phalafala" and "Shibobo" shot the group to superstardom.
