Tim Beville Jr., a pastor at the Restoration Temple in Allentown, Pennsylvania, made sure that his beloved pug, Dexter, had a proper send-off. Open casket and all.

According to Dexter's obituary he, unfortunately, had to say goodbye to his loyal companion in April after he had been unwell for some time.

The funeral featured an assortment of flowers and a large embroidered print of Dexter.

Guests could sign in at the ceremony, received a sweet picture of Dexter, and were offered a programme.

Dexter also looked completely peaceful in his open casket, where he was half-covered in a fleece blanket, wore a blue bow around his neck, and even had a little chew toy.

Guests and friends were also encouraged to send flowers to the grieving family or they could plant a tree in Dexter's memory. At this point in time, five trees have been planted. Dexter was cremated after the funeral.

Hopefully, he is resting peacefully, feeling free, and living his best after-doggy-life.
