Mother of eight has just given birth to her own grandchild - and "it felt so right"!

A selfless act where this mother became a surrogate for her daughter.
A daughter who struggles with fertility issues has had her mom by her side every step of the way.
Mothers are big helps with carrying some of the weight when it comes to childbirth, but this mom went the extra mile for her daughter.
Chalise Smith, 50, carried her granddaughter to term after doctors told her daughter she could no longer conceive children.

Kaitlyn Munoz, 24, endured severe health complications during an earlier pregnancy in 2019.
When Kaitlyn was pregnant with her first little boy, she struggled with endometriosis and an auto-immune disease called Sjögren's syndrome.
This disorder causes the body to attack the healthy cells by mistake, causes blood clotting in pregnant women, and ultimately results in miscarriage.

This diagnosis came as a shock to the family which then sparked Charlise to offer to surrogate the baby through the process of IVF.
After Charlise got the go-ahead, she began the In Vitro Fertilisation process and had two embryos implanted in September 2021, which resulted in her falling pregnant with her granddaughter.

"What an amazing experience the last 24 hours have been. I am at a loss for words. My mom is a living angel and brought us another blessing on earth, and we are in LOVE.
"When my mom offered to be our surrogate, it felt so right. My mom did so amazingly throughout the pregnancy, and we had an amazing delivery experience. Grateful for my mom and her selflessness in this journey," she captioned the post.
