Updated | By Stacey and JSbu
When it comes to putting action to your words, Thato Ntseare is a living testament.
We love a feel-good story, especially during the times we are all living in now. Let us be real, it is nice to escape the news cycle sometimes with inspirational stories.

One such story is that from a Pietermaritzburg man who is living the phrase, ‘Sometimes you just have to take matters into your very own hands’…
Thato, who is 36 years old and unemployed, wakes up every day an hour earlier from his normal wake up call. He grabs his tools and goes out to clean the streets of his township and fix the massive potholes.
Based in Imbali, Unit 19, Thato shares the following:
The only time, I am not working is when I have scored myself a piece job otherwise you will find me on the road working hard.- Thato
Thato uses his mother's tools to help his community, being unemployed motivated him to do something with his time
I realized that sitting at home doing nothing, when the streets are dirty is not going to help. I need to take a stand and show my community that we can take a stand and we do not have to wait for the government to help us.- Thato
Thato's efforts have been met with great admiration, but he also admits that there are those who mock him.
Some people will ask me why am I doing what I am doing because it is the municipalities job to do- Thato
What does the future hold for Thato?
His dream is to one day own his own cleaning service company that will employ young people from his neighbourhood.
