She is the pride of not only Effingham, but KZN. Stacey and J Sbu caught up with Dipika Somaroo to find out more about her incredible accomplishments!
For the month of Februray, Stacey and J Sbu have been featuring some insights for parents and students, focusing on the class of 2020. The topics and conversations are tailored and have the opinion of an expert.

Today, the team wraps up the #MatricFocus with an interview with a young lady whom the word excellence does not even come close to doing her justice! Her accomplishments are unfathomable for most of us, especially when you contextualise that she achieved all of this during a pandemic.

Dipika Somaroo is a top achiever nationally from Effingham Secondary School. She has been ranked the 'Top Performing Student' in Quintile 4, which refers to public schools.
Dipika soared by obtaining seven distinctions and an overall average of 96%, superseding the goal she had set for herself at the beginning of the year.
Academics has always been a strong focus for Dipika. Her passion for education and learning was instilled in her at a very young age. Even though 2020 was a challenging year for her family and dealing with the pandemic, Dipika remained focused and resolute.
We are so very proud of you, Dipika!
