Confession: "My man is labelling himself a businessman but we can barely pay our rent"

Someone has a confession to make...
In collaboration with Confessions.za, we've decided to detail some of the wildest confessions on the streets of Mzansi and get KZN to weigh in with their unfiltered thoughts.
For the first one of the year, we are talking about people that fib about their lifestyle.
The confession that caught Stacey Norman's eye went something like this:
"My man is labelling himself as a big businessman who consults with huge companies. We actually share a car and barely pay our rent. He tells people he owns various companies but has been wearing the same black pants since last Thursday."
Look, we get how difficult it is to keep up with appearances when you're stuck in a financial bind.
But staying true to yourself is the most important thing you can do in this world. Many people came from a place of concern for the way this girlfriend handled this situation though.
We're uncertain as to whether she spoke to him about it before sharing it on social media and we can understand that it is difficult to talk to your partner about such things. Especially because sometimes it involves ego.
Nevertheless, the number one rule in relationships is being honest. Perhaps his strategy is to speak his vision into reality?
