A moon boot is a device that straps around your foot and lower leg that hinders movement of the injured area and promotes healing.
As shared in the tweet above, this tweep is influencing users to escape having to serve their in-laws by claiming to be injured.
Wearing a moon boot suggests that someone is injured, so much so that they won't be able to carry out activities such as cooking and cleaning, that which a makoti would normally have to do.

Other Twitter users have taken a very humorous stance on the matter, sharing that a real moon boot is quite costly to invest in for one weekend, therefore have offered their moon boots for a very cheap price.
Moon Boots for hire and makoti memes have since sparked a trend on Twitter.
