2020 was a year that many people around the world would like to quickly forget, from the devastation of the pandemic to the financial difficulties and just tragic personal losses.
Many had placed hopes that the new year would bring a turnaround of energy and fortune. Yes, we are still very much in a pandemic, with South Africa in its second wave. However, with talks of South Africa receiving its first drop of vaccinations in the not so distant future, there has been some hope restored for some.

The Sheik family were no different, hoping that 2021 would be much kinder to them. Friend of the show, Mishkah, who has become known to Stacey and J Sbu as someone who engages with the show frequently, reached out with some tragic news.
It had been a while since Mishkah had been on the show and the duo had been wondering where their dearest Mishkah was.

In a private DM, Mishkah shared with J Sbu via Instagram the following:
My family flat burnt down last night. We all ran out the flat with nothing but the clothes on our back.- Mishkah Sheik
Stacey and J Sbu were deeply touched by her story and decided to reach out to Mishkah, listen to the podcast of their conversation below:
The duo has committed to donating non-perishable items to the Sheik family, as well as some financial assistance. The team would have loved to do a donation drive with the rest of KZN, as they know what a caring community we have, but with the COVID-19 pandemic, that would simply be too dangerous.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
