Let's talk about death: Do your family members know about your funeral policy?

Stacey and J Sbu are having a tough but necessary conversation.
Adulting is hard for various reasons.

One of the not-so-fun things that come with age is admin.
Life admin can be a drag but it is super important, obviously.

While we don't learn enough about taxes, insurance and all those things at school we kind of have to figure it out for ourselves as we grow up.
Sometimes we have the guidance of our parents but not all of us are that lucky.

Unfortunately, death will always be a part of life and while we would like to avoid it as much as possible, there will come a point where you can longer escape it and because of the inevitable, we need to have a grown discussion about it.
You don't want to think about your parents having to deal with your passing but that is the harsh reality.

When it comes to possessions, money, important documents and in J Sbu's case, a child, you need to make sure everything is taken care of.
J Sbu recently came to the shocking realisation that although he wants to believe that he will be in his son's life forever, he needs to plan ahead and sort out a few things:
I don't think I've had that conversation with my parents. My stuff is a bit all over the place at the moment. I don't remember sitting down and having a conversation about who my life policy or funeral cover is with. I might have said it in passing as a joke, that Zanda is the beneficiary of everything. But I don't think we've had a serious conversation where I give them my phone password, my email password, my documents and policies. The more I think about it, I have not sorted any of those things out and I really should. Because life is not promised.- J Sbu

Stacey on the other hand is the complete opposite.
When it comes to any sort of life admin Stacey admits that she comes from a very organized family:
My mother has all of my stuff and everything is available on file. The same thing with my mom in reverse, so my sister and I have all of her things. I know where all my dad's things are in his house. Even my grandmother, there is a key in a cupboard and when you open the cupboard, there's a compartment, and inside there is the stuff. Yes, we are VERY organised when it comes to knowing where all the stuff is. In fact, so organised we even have secret treasure maps as it turns out. I am who I am, and yes it runs in the family.- Stacey
It's clear that everyone can agree that while it's very uncomfortable to chat about, we could all do with some peace of mind.
