KZN woman shares infertility struggles and husband's refusal to try IVF
Updated | By Stacey and J Sbu
Snehlanhla and her husband have been trying to have a baby for over three years and as a last attempt, her doctor has suggested that she tries IVF.
Many couples experience issues with infertility, and with many of those couples, they never have any reason to suspect they may have infertility problems until they start to actively try to conceive.
For this reason, it’s recommended that couples who’ve been trying to get pregnant for over a year without success seek the advice of a doctor.
Such is the case for this week's #TheFixer story, shared by KZN listener Snehlanhla.
#TheFixer is a feature on Stacey and J Sbu's show in which the duo gives KZN listeners an opportunity to share their dilemmas that they seek advice on. Together with the help of fellow KZN listeners, Stacey and J Sbu try to help the concerned party fix their problem.

Snehlanhla has always had dreams of being a mom. According to her, she did everything by the book, secured her career and got married to the love of her life. Her husband and her did a family plan to map out when they would like to fall pregnant so that it co-insides with what else is and was happening in their life.

Unfortunately, after numerous attempts to fall pregnant, Snehlanhla and her husband have struggled to conceive. Unfortunately, they are yet to be successful.
Their doctor has approached the couple and suggested alternative ways to conceive, including IVF.
IVF is 'In vitro fertilisation', which is a complex series of procedures used to help with fertility or prevent genetic problems and assist with the conception of a child.
Snehlanhla's husband is against this, as he believes that children should be conceived the 'natural way'.

The couple is at logger heads because of this, with Snehlanhla fearing that because of this she will not get an opportunity to be a mom, her life's dream.
Stacey and J Sbu managed to connect with an IVF specialist, whom should Snehlanhla's husband agree to meet with, could help him understand the process and how the procedure has helped many couples struggling to conceive.
