"I think I'm gay but I don't know how to tell my conservative mother."

A child's greatest fear is not being loved by their parents and being rejected.
Shaun* (name changed to protect listener's identity) is a young man in his early 20s who is experiencing a great inner struggle.

He has written to Stacey and J Sbu with the hope of finding some much-needed advice.
As you know, #TheFixer is a feature on Stacey and J Sbu's show in which the duo gives KZN listeners an opportunity to share their dilemmas that they seek advice on. Together with the help of fellow KZN listeners, Stacey and J Sbu try to help the concerned party fix their problem.

After doing a bit of introspection, Shaun has realised that he might not be straight.
For as long as I can remember, even at school, I was never really attracted to girls. I have a lot of female friends but unlike my peers have not dated much.- Shaun, KZN Listener
READ: "My relative has offered their apartment for free, but I don't want to bruise my partner's ego"
Seeing as he has kind of always felt this way towards the opposite sex, Shaun has now met a guy to whom he is definitely attracted. This friend is proudly gay and out, but he still thinks Shaun is straight, so they've never gone on a date.
With this in mind, Shaun is finding it harder to hide this part of his life from his mother. The two of them are extremely close but she is also conservative and religious. He is very aware of her thoughts on homosexuality and he's scared to open up to her.
